Hello!  My name is Nicole Miccio (Me- Chee-O) and I was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY.  MY love affair with bright lights, dark shadows, and all things theatrical began around twelve-years-old while studying acting at HB Studio in the West Village.  From then on, my passion for capturing the human soul from behind the lens inevitably led me to the field of portrait photography.  

Because we tend to suffer in direct proportion to how contracted our minds are (and from our resistance to pain), I am incredibly captivated by the complexity of the human condition, which is probably why most of my subjects tend to be professionals in the performing arts industry.   

While shooting, my top priority is making sure everyone is comfortable enough to dissolve beyond their relative awareness to a place where ego is not present…a limitless space that transcends time…and if that sounds too difficult, well, then just go ahead and let your alter ego shine in the spotlight! 

My studio is located in Industry City, Brooklyn.
I shoot on a Sony mirrorless A7 IV, and I completed a BA in Liberal Arts from The New School University.
