Hello!  My name is Nicole Miccio (Me- Chee-O) and I was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY.  MY love affair with bright lights, dark shadows, and all things theatrical began around twelve-years-old while studying acting at HB Studio in the West Village.  From then on, my passion for capturing the human soul from behind the lens inevitably led me to the field of portrait photography.  

My background includes corporate photography, as well as portrait work with theatre actors and professional ice dancers.  These experiences have taught me how to bring out presence, confidence, and personality while maintaining a polished and relaxed aesthetic.  My approach is personalized and highly guided.  I work with each subject to create a variety of expressions, poses, and looks.  From confident and approachable to more serious and authoritative, so they leave with portraits that feel elevated and authentic, rather than overly posed or generic.

While shooting, my top priority is making sure everyone is comfortable enough to dissolve beyond their relative awareness to a place where ego is barely present…a limitless space that transcends time…and if that sounds too difficult, well, then just go ahead and let your alter ego shine in the spotlight! 

My studio is located in Industry City, Brooklyn.
I shoot on a Sony mirrorless A7 IV, and I completed a BA in Liberal Arts from The New School University.
